Dataset Information

  • Dataset Information for DC21 will be posted on January 25, 2021 for your review.
  • Datasets will be available to view on February 15 at noon. You must be a registered participant to receive access the datasets.
  • You must declare your dataset by February 17 at 1159pm.
    • You will receive a link to submit your dataset preference.
    • You may not change your dataset after this time, so be sure to review all of the datasets carefully.
    • Once we have your preference you will be assigned a mentor, if you have asked to work with one.

Teams

  • You are responsible for forming your own team.
  • Participants may compete as individuals or as teams with up to 4 students.
  • Team registration: February 5 – February 10, 2021
  • No changes to team membership will be accepted after your team has registered.
  • If you are registered with multiple teams, you will be assigned to the first registered team.
  • You will receive a link to the DC21 Team Form on February 5.
    Note: Only one team member needs to sign up your team.
  • Still looking for Team Members? UMD students can plan to come to the virtual DC21 Team Building event on February 5, 2021. Pre-registration is required when you complete your confirmation form on or before January 26.

Kick-off Event Information, February 20, 2021 10am – 2pm

  • Virtual event, Zoom links will be sent prior to the event.
  • Your full team must participate.

Work Week of February 21 – 26, 2021

  • Continue to work on your data analysis with your team and your mentor.
  • Work may be completed virtually or in person.

Abstracts Due Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 11:59pm

  • Submit a 300 word abstract about your project. You will receive a link for your submission.
  • Abstracts will be provided to the judges so they know a bit about your project before judging day.

Showcase and Judging Event, February 27, 2021 10am-3pm

  • Virtual event, Zoom links will be sent prior to the event.
  • Present your final analysis to the judges over Zoom.
  • Judging will end at 3pm.
  • Awards Ceremony will begin at 4pm.
